Need a lawyer? He runs his law practice out of his Lincoln and is ready to step on the gas. Moving around Los Angeles, he takes on cases while balancing a personal life that includes being a father and having two ex-wives. Originally set up with CBS for a series commitment in 2020, it was canceled shortly before filming the first episode due to COVID. This has now been picked up by Netflix for a 10-episode first season based on Mickey Haller’s second book, “The Brass Verdict.” Mickey Haller owns several cars, all with personalized California license plates featuring legal terms.

Personalized California plates allow a maximum of seven letters/numbers, but all of Mickey’s plates have at least eight. The Lincoln Lawyer Netflix adapted a novel called The Brass Verdict into a television show. It stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Becki Newton from How I Met Your Mother, Neve Campbell from the Scream franchise, Christopher Gorham, Angus Sampson from the Insidious franchise, Jazz Raycole, and Lana Parrilla from Once Upon a Time. In 2006, Michael Connelly published his first novel of six books, based on Mickey Haller. 2011 saw Connelly’s first book, The Lincoln Lawyer, adapted into a film.

This is based on the second book in the series, known as The Brass Verdict. After another lawyer dies mysteriously, Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia Rulfo) inherits all of his unfinished cases. In addition to needing to get to grips with his cases, he begins investigating the sudden death of his colleague, while trying to repair his relationships in his personal life. It’s not hard to see why The Lincoln Lawyer is so popular on Netflix. All of the stories and likable characters make the show intriguing to watch.

She is a great supporting character

Rulfo is charming and personable as Haller. He makes the audience and the court laugh with his one-liners. Previously struggling with substance abuse, he has compassion for others in similar situations, which leads him to hire Izzy Letts (Jazz Raycole) to be his driver. They care about each other and hold each other accountable to make sure they both stay on the right path. Gorham does a good job playing Trevor Elliott, a billionaire who plays the victim of his wife’s murder.

The multiple storylines keep the show interesting

Newton plays a positive and caring Lorna Crane, who is Haller’s secretary and friend. In addition to all the people who help Haller, he hires a private investigator named Cisco. Sampson works well with the team to ensure Haller’s success. In most episodes, there is a minor case that Haller must win, but there is also a major case that he must solve along with other plot points. My verdict for The Lincoln Lawyer is that if you like legal dramas, you will like this show.
