Narrative
After witnessing a strange, traumatic incident involving a patient, a psychiatrist becomes increasingly convinced that she is being threatened by an extraordinary entity. on September 30, the film’s cast appeared at various baseball games while sitting down. dead behind home plate and grinning at the camera, motionless, though the fans in the audience are understandably concerned, wearing smiley t-shirts. Not long after, another appeared in the background with the crowd during the Today show. About 31 minutes later, when the alarm goes off, Rose breaks the glass.

When the glass is shown at her feet, she is wearing stockings. Seconds later, she’s wearing lace-up shoes as she checks the door. Depending on what happens later in the party, there are some continuity issues that may not be „bugs“. but may actually be intentional to show "breaks" In Rose’s consciousness/sanity. why are you doing this to me Monster: Because your mind is so seductive.
Proved me wrong
Paramount’s opening and closing logos feature a curved smiley face at the base of a mountain. The film is featured in Chris Stuckmann’s Movie Reviews: Smile (2022). LollipopWritten by Beverley Ross & Julius Dixon Performs The Chordettes. One of the few horror movies this year that managed to surprise me. When the trailer came out, I thought it was going to be another stupid, incompetent mess.
However, the main character was good enough to carry the whole show
From the very beginning, everything from the direction, the performances, to the cinematography and sound design was absolutely stunning. How they managed this feat on such a low budget is beyond me, but the film was simply mesmerizing to watch. The horror was quite effective with shocking scares and gory moments, albeit cheap but not that distracting. They were able to build tension so well and never intended to let it down until the very end. The plot was simple enough to connect all the important characters for me to care about them, although some might complain that 90% of the characters were just filler and I can agree with that.
Smile handled it decently, but don’t expect Oscar-worthy exposition
One thing that may not sit well with many viewers was the use of mental illness. And no, it wasn’t exactly the main theme, so try not to quit halfway through because the last act of the movie will be full of surprises. Try it. I’d say it was worth the time for horror fans like me. These weren’t just sequels to Annabelle or Insidious, but something more.
